About Us

Jayanagara Sthree Samaja established in the year 1954 by a group of service minded women in and around Jayanagara area has today grown into a multi-faceted institution.

Since its inception, it has been actively striving for the up-liftment of women and children. Starting its activity in a car-shed, it has now grown into a big voluntary, non-profitable institution running a hostel, a school and a retirement home It is a great pleasure to note that the trust has completed its 57 years of yeomen service to women and child welfare and celebrated its golden jubilee on the 7th Feb 2004 with the Excellency Sri. T.N.Chaturvedhi, the then governor of Karnataka presiding over the function.

In a year 1986, a public charitable trust under the name Jayanagara Sthree Samaja Trust was registered to take over the activities of the Samaja.

Hostel for Working Women

The trust started a hostel for working women in the year 1978 and is running successfully with presently with over 50 women residents, with the generous donations from public as well as philanthropists and also grant from central and state governments. The hostel provides secured living facilities to women belonging to different castes and communities.
